Anonymous asked: I'm a johnlock shipper and I'll sink with that ship but my biggest nightmare is that they don't pull johnlock in the series to "demolish the idea that two guys can't be best friends without being gay" or something like that
Seriously, though, if that’s the story they’re actually telling, virtually everyone involved with the show has some major explaining to do regarding their writing/acting/directing/props/costuming/lighting/musical/editing choices. Not to mention the effort that has been put into making sure the subtext in the supplemental material (John’s blog, the Casebook, the Network app) is consistent with the subtext in the show.
If they wanted to portray an extremely intimate platonic friendship, they fucked up.
but if they want to show that two guys can be best friends without being gay WHY DO THEY SHOW THEM SO GAY FOR EACH OTHER???
Because it’s fashionable and sells and attracts viewers who would otherwise not be interested in the show without driving away those who don’t want to be “exposed” to the idea of two men being in love with each other.
But I started watching the show BEFORE I started liking Johnlock? I would have been interested anyway.
